dream sailing
We’ve been hanging around here too long.
Can’t get the tune right on evensong.
Can’t remember what it feels like to belong
Or what it feels like to not be wrong
So let’s slip out of this harbor
And sail upon uncharted water, uncharted water.
To where we feel with our hearts
Every howl and every bark
Emanating from Noah’s ark.
Every end’s every start,
Every drama’s every part,
Every vision that’s ever got
The fire from sincerity’s art,
Every lush and every stark
Landscape seen in the light and in the dark,
Every love song sung by every lark
That’s turned dying embers into sparks.
Uncharted water
Every life that’s really lived,
Every gift that’s really gived,
Every understatement that’s exploded
Every gun that’s ever been loaded,
Every old man walking an old dog,
Every captain without a ship’s log,
And every breeze that blows our way
To bestow a cats-paw on our day.
We’ve been hanging around here too long.
Can’t get the tune right on evensong.
Can’t remember what it feels like to belong
Or what it feels like to not be wrong
So let’s slip out of this harbor
And sail upon uncharted water, uncharted water.
