snow walk

Walden Pond is a tough sell.

Some call it dictionary from hell.

Others say needs more action.

Others feel it's like lying in traction.

Some feel it's the call of a crow,

That out whites the whitest snow.

It’s easy to walk on trampled snow

But harder there to hear your soul.

You can slip where other feet came down.

It's hard to bring a forest when you walk in town.

I see you hiding under a snowflake.

Come out from there for heaven’s sake.

Walk on it, make that sound

And hear your soul touching the ground.

Break new ground with every step.

That burning sound consumes regret.

You get wet clothes and a runny nose.

Both liquids purify your soul.

Washington got wet crossing the Delaware.

To cross the Styx, you don’t need underwear.

“What's the weather, I just got my hair done”.

“You should get the wet look, it really can stun”.

Weasels don't walk on day old tracks

Heroes don't ask for their money back.

Don’t make snowballs, snowflakes can’t breathe.

Plenty other ways to make your heart bleed.

The snow queen,  she’s warm and she’s kind.

To date her no need for money or time.

Thoreau flipped a coin, “Heads I write, tails I don’t.

Picked petals from a daisy, said, I will, I won’t.

Did he write it?

It’s for you to know.

Does it feel like quick sand or untrodden snow?
