summer ecstasy, (year), eternity
Sipping ice cream sodas in the corner drug store
Don't hear the movement of its summer screen door.
Do it like we did it in the glorious before
When the last sip made you only want more.
Talk about the future in our spoons,
A future of ice cream on an endless afternoon.
Spoon together in a fingertip caress
As we inhale the fragrance of no more guess.
The softness of now is here to stay
As we swirl together through the Milky Way.
Look into the colors of each other’s eyes
Stir the air with each other’s sighs.
Smile into the ocean of each other’s smile.
Feel its pull and then after a while
Sail on those seas till we reach each other’s heart
And feel the magic of what is only the start.
Look at the menu, each hold one side.
Watch as the words all start to slide.
Talk about movie stars like Betty Grable.
Accidentally touch knees under the table.
Both eat onions, or both not.
It has to do with kissing, kissing a lot.
Follow the blur of our racing hearts.
We are most definitely not playing a part.
Whispers that make each other blush,
Nature’s perfect make-up that is never too much.
Laugh from way down deep inside.
The way you do when there’s nothing left to hide.
Hold hands with each breath.
I’ll take your right; you take my left.
Float into the great above
And fall back to heaven as we fall in love.
