There’s a man in a doorway smoking a stogie.
He nods as I walk by.
From up above I can hear an oldie
Spillng out a window where a girl once winked, “Hi.”
There’s a woman; they say she can’t think.
She’s thirty-five but she still reaches for the skies.
When I walk by she always gives me a wink.
You can see the sky’s reflections in her eyes.
There’s a flag that’s shaking the air.
I try to stare but it makes me blink.
I always thought it was the other way around.
That can really make you think.
There’s Harold, the dog of fifteen sorrows.
She watches as we all go buy.
She says there’s no sense thinking about tomorrow
When tomorrow the store will be dry.
