wildfire
Well thoughts they blazed through minds crazed
By the hand of the iron claw.
What kind of cruel enforces rules
Of misplaced personal law?
Light burst through from what we knew
To be more than simple desire.
It was the blinding light of pure insight
That blazed into wildfire.
We ran with that fire and did not tire
Till the claw could no longer grip.
We slipped the chains of a vessel of disdain
And set sail on freedom’s ship.
A message sent by the president
Said, “Beware of misplaced trust.
Personal thought will end in naught
Save the arms of a federal bust.”
But he mistook a bend for the end
That led to his quagmire,
For spiritual light had rent our night
And stoked our wildfire.
We sailed that fire so inspired
Our thoughts a sacred trip.
Darkness burned and as the day turned
We sailed on freedom’s ship.
An historical mistake they did take
To be a divine decree.
A series of successions led to oppression
By a misplaced family tree.
The imperial throne said, “It’s well known
That nothing can be higher”,
But a mighty wind of truth set in
And fanned our wildfire.
We roared with that fire and became flyers
Looking down on a throne eclipsed.
Flames glowed and truth was sowed
As we sailed on freedom’s ship.
