would you call that a crime
I could tell you my feelings all loud and hard.
Tell you my feelings on a subtle card.
Make it poetic all soft and sublime.
But would you just forget it?
Would any words fit the crime?
I could tell you facts.
Tell you fibs.
Trace back the tracks
To Adam’s ribs.
I could make a story would compel your soul.
Make a story would swallow you whole.
Make you feel all the wonders of the earth.
Make you feel present at the birth
Of a world unapologetic and sublime.
But would you just forget it?
Would any words fit the crime?
I could tell you pictures.
Tell you sounds.
Plant you fixtures
Would become your ground.
I could fill your head with idyllic treats.
Fill your heart with emotional sweets.
Fill your breath with pure words.
Fill your ears with music that is heard
From kinetic spheres that move sublime.
But would you just forget it?
Would any words fit the crime?
Would you hear the thunder of a misplaced word
Caught in the fire of a thundering herd
Of aesthetic sounds that carry the sublime
And if you could forget it
Would you call that a crime?
